Windy Hill Vineyard and Winery is a family owned and operated business. We harvest about three acres of top quality wine grapes for our winery, right here in Southern Illinois. We have been tending to our vines for about 11 years now.

It started out as a wine making hobby for my father and I. We looked at the strong and rapid growing wine industry that Southern Illinois had to offer and decided to go for it. And that's what we have done.

Our winery may not be the biggest but we feel it suits our style and the region that we live in. We have constructed the winery ourselves giving it hopefully a nice southern rustic atmosphere. Kind of like that down home feeling, which makes our family comfortable and hopefully our guests as well.

It took roughly a year to finish the winery, and we have recently got to open the doors in November, 2007. We thought that day would never come but with lots of hard work and a little luck, we got there.

We are also one of six wineries that are involved in the Southern Illinois Wine Trail and among the four wineries in Johnson County with one of the wineries just 1.5 miles down the road from Windy Hill.

So after giving you a little information about Windy Hill, we would like to invite you to our winery and hopefully provide you with some great tasting wines from our vineyard. We would like to thank our cousin, Denise, for designing our label and keeping our family heritage in mind.
